Scott is a musician, educator, and student of Afro-Cuban traditional and popular music. His primary instrument is the conga drum, and he also plays bongó, timbales, and batá. He specializes in salsa and Latin jazz generes; music that emphasizes fervor, swing, and forward drive.

Currently, Scott plays congas with the Ray Vega Afro-Caribbean Jazz Ensemble, timbales with Guagua, and congas with Salsa Meets Jazz, with residencies at Hotel Vermont and The126.

Scott also offers lessons, in person and online, for individuals and groups, and he teaches courses for beginner and intermediate students at the University of Vermont.
